Blue Ridge Banjo Camp Scholarship Recipient Announced

The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) is delighted to announce its Blue Ridge Banjo Camp scholarship recipient, 16-year old G Korth-Rockwell of Bridgeport, CT. The scholarship covers full registration to the camp, which is presented by Béla Fleck.

The IBMA was especially delighted to select Korth-Rockwell, a young player with eight years of experience that includes traditional, jazz and classical music.

Blue Ridge Banjo Camp, which takes place in Brevard, NC Aug. 14th – 18th, gives students the opportunity to hone their skills alongside teachers like Fleck, Noam Pikelny, Tony Trischka, Kristin Scott Benson and Alan Munde.

As part of its stated mission and values, the IBMA is proud to partner with Blue Ridge Banjo Camp to show leadership in the bluegrass community, support education programs and efforts and make bluegrass more accessible to a younger audience.

“We are especially honored to work with Blue Ridge Banjo Camp on this scholarship selection,” IBMA Executive Director Paul Schiminger said. “Supporting bluegrass education is always top of mind for our organization, and it’s particularly exciting to see young new talent taking part in opportunities like these.”

CONGRATULATIONS G Korth-Rockwell! We’ll see you in August!
